Second CNC cell comes online for boom and turret parts

Large weldments no longer queue on a single machining cell — boom and turret parts for JXS frames run a second centre.

A 6 T handler and a 1.5 T handler should not wait on the same mill. The second CNC centre takes the large weldments that used to queue — boom sections and turrets for JXS frames.

Why a second cell

Phase-II already split paint and assembly. Machining was still a single bottleneck. Two centres now run in parallel so a Chile machine and a domestic 3000 do not share a slot. Lead time is still set by hydraulics and the mill’s freeze date. What this removes is the wait we used to own.

How the plant is laid out, or the Phase-II note.

“Eighty units is a planning number. The real change is that a Chile machine and a domestic 3000 no longer share a paint slot — or a mill slot.”
