Mingtai Aluminum (SSE 601677) is a large aluminum sheet, strip and foil mill — about 5,000 people, RMB 6 billion of assets, 1.4 million tonnes a year. The unmanned overhead cranes at its Henan Mingsheng mill in Zhengzhou High-tech Zone were subcontracted to CHUNHUA by Hefei Jingsong, who held the workshop and AGV package.

Two cranes: QD20t-15mA6 on the unloading bay and QD20t-30mA6 on the annealing bay.

Unloading bay

Road trucks bring aluminum coils to the unloading area. WMS issues the inbound job. The crane scans the truck and the cargo together, finds the coil coordinates, travels over the centre, opens the clamp, drops onto the coil, lifts, and sets the coil on the AGV saddle that feeds the mill. Then it does the next one.

Annealing bay

Two conveyors face the high-bay, three saddle stations on each — six turnover-car positions in total. One line is outbound, the other inbound; the mill can swap those roles. The stacker presents a coil on an outbound saddle. The crane takes it to the annealing car. WMS can ask for up to four coils on one annealing car. After the furnace, the annealing car parks, WMS issues inbound, and the crane lifts coils onto the inbound conveyor saddles.

Whole-machine positioning stays inside ±20 mm.
